The Process

It is important to remember that with every bespoke garment hand made by our team, we invest hours of detail-focussed time into bringing the dream dress idea to life. The process is extremely technical, and the utmost care and commitment to quality is invested into each dress that is made by our team.

As an integral part of the service experience to our clients, we work closely with each bride to ensure that their individual, custom-made garment is created accurately, down to the last seam and stitch, using the best possible fabrics and one-of-a-kind laces as sourced by our team. This process – including the quotation and manufacturing – will take a few days to finalize, as every garment requires a specialized approach because it would have been the first of its kind, designed with the unique body shape of the client in mind.

We believe firmly in pouring ourselves wholeheartedly to every bespoke creation for our clients, which requires a specific amount of time to bring to life, more than the time needed for garments that are produced on a mass level. For example, we would typically have 2-3 consultations with every bride, which is our way of ensuring the perfect dress is made for the perfect day.

As every bride is unique with their own body shape, measurements, preferences and ideals, we need to ensure that the correct fabrics are chosen and used in their correct applications. This takes time to construct, and we love explaining to our clients how the different fabrics can connect and flow together in finalizing the hand-made custom dress.

We simply love taking an idea on paper and bringing it to life in person! Nothing makes us more fulfilled than seeing our brides glowing with joy as they imagine walking down the isle in the dress they’ve always dreamed of. We consider it a great honour to walk alongside our clients as they embrace not only their wedding day, but other milestone moments in their journey. Creating a space where brides can experience a personalised, professional experience that takes away the unnecessary stress of worrying about a dress on the wedding day is a vital part of what we feel called to do as not only a business, but as friends as well.

In conclusion what do our brides love the most about the KM bespoke experience?

Clear, detailed quotations and cost guidelines with no hidden surprises. The unique and individual client service experience with a big emphasis on detail. Adequate fittings to ensure accuracy and quality of workmanship throughout the dress making process. Your dream dress brought to life.

The Advice

Know YOU

It’s important to be true to who YOU are as a person. Are you someone who prefers more traditional styles? Are you adventurous? Conservative? Do you prefer bold statement pieces or bohemian flows? To lace, or not too- much lace? Be authentic – that’s who we wanna see.

Know your CREW

We would strongly encourage you to limit your crew to a select few in fittings.. It Is true that too many cooks spoil the broth, and we won't want too many conflicting opinions to distract you from YOUR ideals. Be bold enough to say yes and no – it is your special day after all.

Know the WHY

Understand WHY you are choosing the designer you are to make your dreams come to life. Do some research, compare styles, read their reviews.. You can never be too well prepared to make a well-informed decision.

Know the HOW

Be clear on your budget. Have a realistic expectation in mind, and keep an honest level of communication with your designer to ensure you are both on the same page throughout the process. It helps reminding yourself that things like additional consults, extra fabric and lace as well as the intricacy of the design for once off garments vs store bought garments or collection dresses, all play a part in the final costing.

Dare To Dream

Be willing and open to something new! Who knows, perhaps all it takes is a fresh perspective to create something you would have never thought possible.

How does the process of having a dress made at KM bespoke work?

Step 1: Book an appointment

Step 2: Pay your consultation fee (brides) for the consultation you have chosen.

Step 3: Have the consultation where your style is discussed as well as fabrics, details and your measurements will be taken.

Step 4: A quote will be sent to you via email.

Step 5: If you accept the quote, pay the 50% deposit.

Step 6: 1st dress fitting (often this will be a mock up top and your proper skirt) Make sure to point out any changes you would like to make to your dress. If you would like to have a bra or cups sewn into your dress make sure to bring the bra along to your first fitting.

Step 7: 2nd dress fitting (your dress will be more complete with only the hem and zip left to be done) Make sure to point out any changes you would like to make to your dress as the next fitting is your collection one. IT IS VERY NB TO BRING YOUR SHOES TO THIS FITTING as we will be marking the hem. If we discussed having a bra sewn in don't forget to bring it with, we will pin this in place at your second fitting.

Step 8: 3rd and final dress fitting and collection.

Step 9: HAVE THE BEST WEDDING DAY EVER!
